TV presenter Ellen DeGeneres is launching an app and website that will feature material from her shows and allow viewers to upload their own content.

Ellentube is being created by Ellen Digital Ventures, a new joint venture formed between DeGeneres and Warner Bros Television Group.

It’s headed up by digital veteran Jill Braff, who will report to Mike Darnell, Warner Bros’ president of unscripted and alternative television, and Donna Redier Linsk, exec VP of business operations and programming at Telepictures.

The website and app will feature exclusive content from DeGeneres, who will continue to host talkshow The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The service will also allow viewers to upload their own videos, with content organised around topics including cats, kids and celebrity subjects.
