Davenport’s Moon orbits Universal Kids

NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment-owned Universal Kids in the US has picked up a new preschool series from the co-creator of Teletubbies.

Moon & Me (50×22’) was developed by Andrew Davenport and is produced by his Foundling Bird prodco in partnership with Bento Box Entertainment subsidiary Sutikki.

The series will premiere on BBC kids’ net CBeebies in the UK this year, with Sutikki overseeing global distribution and merchandise licensing.

Global licensing partnerships with Hasbro and Scholastic have been agreed for the preschool property, while a deal with UYoung will see the show air in China in 2019.

Inspired by tales of toys that come to life when nobody is looking, Moon & Me tells the comical story of a special friendship between two characters from completely different worlds.

It will air on Universal Kids in the fall.
