Das Erste trafficks Dutch crime drama

German broadcaster Das Erste has ordered a two-part thriller about a detective who infiltrates drug traffickers in Amsterdam.

The Amsterdam Crime (Der Amsterdam-Krimi) is being produced by Germany’s Zieglerfilm Köln and was commissioned by ARD Degeto for Das Erste. Michael Kreindl is attached to direct the first episode, with Peter Ladkani on board for the second instalment.

The series has been written by Peter Koller and is based on an idea by Rebecca Mahnkopf and Klaus Pieber.

Filming began last week, with Barbara Thielen producing. It joins recent orders including comedy series Wenn Schon Falsch, Dann Richtig! (If Wrong, Then Right!).
