The Brokenwood Mysteries

German broadcaster Das Erste has acquired Kiwi detective drama The Brokenwood Mysteries from All3Media International.

The show is produced by South Pacific Pictures for Prime TV in New Zealand, where a fifth 4×60’ season is currently in production ahead of launching this autumn.

Prima TV in the Czech Republic has also acquired the drama, adding to existing deals with broadcasters in the UK, France, Denmark, Italy, Hungary, Croatia, Switzerland, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden and Slovenia.

The Brokenwood Mysteries has performed well for channels operator UKTV on Drama, while three seasons have aired on France 3 to strong ratings. It has also strengthened DR1’s slot average by 33%.

In addition, the show airs in the US on streaming platform Acorn, which has also taken the show in Canada, as have Société Radio-Canada and Knowledge.
