Das Erste explores skiing murder

German national broadcaster Das Erste has ordered a crime drama based on novels by Claudia Rossbacher.

Steirerkind follows a detective team investigating the murder of a man at a ski resort days before a big race.

The show, which is being shot in Austria, is being written by Agnes Pluch, along with Wolfgang and Maria Murnberger, and is based Rossbacher’s novel series Sandra Mohr.

Germany’s AllegroFilm is producing alongside ARD Degeto, with filming taking place in Austria. The show is set to air later this year.
