German national broadcaster Das Erste has ordered a three-part miniseries examining the radicalisation of neo-Nazis during the 1990s and its effect on the country.
Heute ist nicht alle Tage (Today is Not Always) was written by Thomas Wendrich and is being exec produced by Sophie von Uslar with Christian Schwochow (The Tower) directing.
An air date is yet to be revealed. German producer and distributor Beta Film will sell the show internationally.
The drama chronicles the rise of neo-Nazism, with the first programme investigating the role of terrorist group National Socialist Union in a series of crimes that occurred in Germany between 2000 and 2007.
The two other episodes tell the story from the perspective of the victims and the investigators, and are based on novels by Laila Stieler, and Jan Braren and Rolf Basedow respectively.
