Czech TV remakes Raymond

The Czech Republic’s public broadcaster has ordered a local version of hit US family sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond from Sony Pictures Television (SPT).

Czech TV has ordered a 12×30′ first season of Everybody Loves Rudy (working title), which goes into production this year and is expected to air next fall.

It will be produced by local prodco Film Brigade and marks SPT’s first scripted format deal in the country.

So far the show, which revolves around the life of a sports writer, his wife and his parents who live across the street, has been adapted in the Middle East, Poland, Israel and Russia.
