Cyber hires Goldsmith for US arm

French children’s producer and distributor Cyber Group Studios is opening a North American subsidiary in LA and has appointed a former Warner Bros exec to run it.

Cyber Group’s LA office is being headed by president and CEO Richard Goldsmith, who will oversee the company’s efforts to expand its global production and distribution operations.

Goldsmith, who left The Jim Henson Company last month after arriving from Warner Bros in 2011, will join the management executive board of Cyber Group Studios in France.

His responsibilities include distribution and management of content in North America, China, Australia and New Zealand, and a remit to look for business and IP acquisitions.

Cyber has more than 1,200 half-hours of animated content on its slate, including Mirette Investigates and Zou. It also has seven series in production for broadcasters and digital platforms worldwide and more than 10 in development.
