Erin McIlvain takes up the newly created role of exec VP of content distribution and strategy and will be based in Denver, reporting to president and CEO Bill Abbott.

Her remit includes aligning business development efforts with original content distribution across multiple platforms and she will cultivate strategic partnerships to generate more distribution opportunities.

“As viewing habits continue to evolve, it became overwhelmingly evident that we needed someone in a position dedicated to optimising delivery of our highly rated, high-profile original content across all platforms,” said Abbott.

“Erin’s familiarity with today’s complex ecosystem and its many moving pieces, as well as her strong strategic instincts, make her the ideal candidate to lead the charge in this increasingly important area for our business.”

In related news, Crown finance chief Andy Rooke is adding operations to his title to become operations and chief financial officer.

He will oversee all Crown’s financial, administrative and operations areas, while assuming a broader role in the management of the company’s relationship with Hallmark Cards and its subsidiaries.

Crown Media Family Networks is the umbrella unit subsidiary of Hallmark Cards, housing family networks including Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, as well as digital services.
