The fledgling company will work with Mandel via Alevy Productions, his prodco, to exclusively develop and produce original series for television and digital.

Additionally, Critical Content has signed overall deals with an array of unscripted producers and production companies including Luau Studios, Tony Yates, Rachel Schwartz and Troy Searer as well as scripted producer Jon Schwartz.

These new partnerships bring the total number of Critical Content overall deals to 13 and come after the company was formed in January this year with backing from investment firms including Anchorage Capital.

Critical said the latter has provided a “significant cash infusion” that will allow it explore additional domestic and international production company acquisitions in the coming months.

“Critical has a pretty simple mission: empower the most creative minds in our industry to do their best, most creative work,” said Critical Content CEO Tom Forman.
