Corus targets mobile & web savvy tots

BANFF NEWS: Further bolstering its multi-platform strategy, Corus-owned Canadian kids net Treehouse TV is to be the first Canuck broadcaster to debut a preschool series on mobile and broadband before broadcast.

Treehouse is gearing up to launch its new live action preschool series This is Emily Yeung (right) on mobile, online and on video-on-demand (VOD) prior to its broadcast premiere on Monday, September 4.

The initiative will kick-off on August 14 with a full streamed episode available on mobile platforms through various Canadian wireless carriers.

The same episode will also be offered on VoD as of August 21, and will also be available for download on Corus’ new digital video storefront TreehouseDirect.com for a one-week promotional period beginning August 28.

Also on that date, the series’ dedicated website launch will feature one full streamed episode.

Produced by Toronto indies Marblemedia and Sinking Ship Entertainment, This is Emily Yeung is a follow up to live action preschool show This Is Daniel Cook, which follows the show’s namesake in various real-world learning adventures, interacting with everyone from snake handlers to professional basketball players.

On Treehouse TV, This is Emily Yeung will air Monday through Friday mornings and again in the evenings with four back-to-back episodes programmed to air Saturdays afternoons.
