Corus dips into Bento Box

Canada’s Corus Entertainment has struck a co-development and production deal with US-based Bento Box Entertainment, makers of Fox animated comedy Bob’s Burgers.

The long-term pact will see Bento Box create a slate of original series for the primetime strand on Corus’s Teletoon channel, targeting 18-34 year-olds. The two parties plan to launch them some time in 2016.

Teletoon at Night’s current slate features titles including Fugget About It, Archer, Family Guy, American Dad! and Bento Box’s series The Awesomes.

Bento Box is based in Burbank, California but production will happen in Canada where the firm will work in partnership with Corus’s own animation studio Nelvana.
