Content hires SPT sales exec

UK- and US-based Content Media has added Sony Pictures Television’s executive director of distribution for the Nordics and Benelux to its sales team.

Tom Bairstow has joined the company in London as VP of sales and distribution, and will report to Jonathan Ford, Content’s executive VP of sales and distribution.

The hire follows Content Media merging its previously separate film and television distribution divisions into one unit.

Bairstow will manage the company’s film and television sales across all platforms to French-speaking Europe and Africa, Japan, Asia, Israel and the Middle East.

The exec spent more than six years at Sony Pictures Television, prior to which he was at Target Entertainment.

The company has also made a round of promotions, upping Vicky Ryan to executive VP of commercial affairs and Jennifer Brinkworth to executive VP of marketing and communications.

Both roles will now encompass the company’s film, television and digital sales, with the pair continuing to report to Greg Phillips, president of distribution.
