Head of Wattpad Studios keynotes at Drama Summit

With self-publishing platforms now creating a new generation of authors and fresh IP to turn into drama, Aron Levitz, head of Wattpad Studios shares the vision of one of the world’s most successful next gen content businesses and explains how drama producers can work with the platform.

How can television studios and producers embrace audiences and leverage data to make smarter bets? Today’s content development decisions have a better chance at success when based on hard data and community engagement.

Wattpad, the global multi-platform entertainment company, is home to over 375 million unique story uploads and represents more than 150 talented writers. How can the television business discover content through new streams and bring vibrant stories that will resonate with audiences?

AronHead of Wattpad Studios, Aron Levitz will be at Content London to explain the shift in content development and discuss best practices for sourcing IP, while highlighting some of Wattpad stories that you’ll soon see on movie and TV screens.

As head of Wattpad Studios, Aron Levitz connects the entertainment and publishing industries with new voices and original content created by Wattpad Stars, the biggest influencers on the platform.

Leveraging data and community insights, he works with the industry to coproduce Wattpad stories for film, television, print and digital formats.

Previously, as head of business development, he helped establish the company’s monetisation strategy and launched Wattpad Brand Stories, a native advertising solution. He was also instrumental in launching the Wattpad Stars programme that gives top influencers access to a variety of opportunities.

Throughout his career, Aron has connected the entertainment industry with emerging technology and mobile platforms. As senior director of Strategic Alliances at Xtreme Labs, Aron developed business and mobile strategies for the world’s top media brands, including MTV.

Prior to Xtreme Labs, he was director of entertainment and global content acquisition at BlackBerry, where he worked with artists and other talent, as well as launched innovative music, movie, TV and gaming services.
