World Premiere Screening - Dynamic Television's Madiba episode 1
Dynamic TVNamed after the Thembu clan to which Nelson Mandela belonged, the (6 x 52) dramatic miniseries Madiba tells the epic tale of Nelson Mandela’s heroic journey to bring racial equality and democracy to the people of South Africa. Directed by Kevin Hooks (Prison Break, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D) and starring Laurence Fishburne (Black-ish, The Matrix Trilogy) as the late South African hero, the event series is based on two of Mandela’s books, Conversations with Myself and Nelson Mandela by Himself. Joining Fishburne in the cast are actors Orlando Jones (Drumline), David Harewood (Homeland) and Michael Nyqvist (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy). The miniseries is being produced and financed by Blue Ice Pictures and Out of Africa Entertainment, in association with UK’s Leftbank Pictures and Cinema Gypsy Productions. Madiba is set to premiere on BET Networks in the U.S. in 2017 and is being distributed worldwide by Dynamic Television.

The new original drama Wasteland (8 x one hour) by HBO Europe comes from the team behind Agnieszka Holland's success series “Burning Bush” and focusses on a village on the verge of disappearance. The intense psychological drama and riveting mystery is set in the Rust Belt of the Czech/Polish border, where the underground reserves are big and mining companies offer large sums in exchange for land, and the evacuation of the village. Beta Film presents this visually powerful, grippingly atmospheric, and deeply moving series, which ran as official entry at the Toronto International Film Festival and celebrated its national premiere at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival.

The first part of the session will shine a spotlight on the Oscar-nominated and BAFTA award-winning team from Monumental Pictures. They will be joined on stage by the creators of Harlots, where they will delve behind the scenes into the bold, vibrant and booming world of their upcoming show; which features an all star cast including Samantha Morton, Lesley Manville and Jessica Brown-Findlay.   

The second half of the session will give an exclusive insight into two upcoming shows from leading drama producers Mammoth Screen (Poldark, Victoria); including an exclusive clip from Fearless, a political crime thriller from Homeland writer and executive producer Patrick Harbison. Following this will be a live panel with the team behind the gripping contemporary family thriller Next of Kin, a six-part series written and created by husband and wife team Paul Rutman (Indian Summers, Vera) and Natasha Narayan.
