Comedy Central joins NBC’s Community

US cable network Comedy Central has acquired all three seasons of NBC primetime comedy series Community.

The show, distributed by Sony Pictures Television International, resumes its third season on NBC this week and Comedy Central will begin showing the first in the fall of 2013.

Community is a coproduction between Krasnoff Foster Entertainment, Harmonious Claptrap, Russo Brothers, Universal Media Studios and Sony Pictures Television.

The show, about a group of adults who return to college to gain further qualifications, stars Chevvy Chase as well as rapper and comedian Donald Glover.
