Comedy Central feels the Burn

Comedy Central in the US has renewed The Burn with Jeff Ross for a second season. The series will return to the Viacom-owned cable channel in January 2013 for another six episodes.

The series sees Ross and a panel of other comics take on current pop culture topics and targets. Season one averaged 1.1 million viewers per episode, following its debut in August, according to Comedy Central.

“The world is definitely a better place for having Jeff roast it,” said head of original programming Kent Alterman. The show is executive produced by Ross, Mike Gibbons, Chris McGuire and Tagline Television’s Willie Mercer and Amy Zvi.
