Comedy Central adds Jordan Klepper show

Anthony Atamanuik fronts The President Show

Comedy Central has ordered a late-night show with stand-up comic Jordan Klepper and extended the run of satirical series The President Show.

The Opposition with Jordan Klepper will start airing on September 25 and will satirise politicians and current affairs.

Klepper previously worked on The Daily Show and has been behind specials including Jordan Klepper Solves Guns, which aired last month and explored gun control.

The show was unveiled at Comedy Central’s Television Critics Association presentation yesterday and joins The President Show, which received a further seven episode order.

The series, which will now run to 22 episodes, was created by Anthony Atamanuik, who hosts the series dressed as Donald Trump. Comedy Central has also extended The Jim Jefferies Show, which gets an extra 10 episodes.

Meanwhile, the US network has extended comedy Broad City into a fourth season, which will debut at 22.30ET/PT on September 13, and has greenlit an hour-long sketch special featuring a quartet of comedians known as Goatface.

The group, made up of The Daily Show stars Hasan Minhaj, Asif Ali, Fahim Anwar and Aristotle Athiras, will satirise topics including current affairs and sports.
