US business news channel CNBC has commissioned Endemol, Eyeworks, Zodiak and others to produce the first reality formats for its evening schedule.

CNBC has seven series on its first reality slate, which senior VP of primetime alternative programming Jim Ackerman says will help the channel “find new ways to attract a broader viewership at night while still appealing to CNBC’s highly affluent, educated and influential audience.”

Endemol USA is producing Fakes and Forgeries (working title), following art investigator Curtis Dowling and his team as they work to uncover counterfeiters’ elaborate schemes.

Franchised (wt), from Eyeworks USA, is a competition series giving contestants with high qualifications but low bank balances the chance to win a nationally recognised franchise.

At Your Service (wt) follows a high-end international concierge service serving the rich and famous and is produced by Zodiak USA.

The slate also includes Outstanding! (wt), a series from RelativityReal about high-achieving teens, and housing market show Flipping Wars: Vegas (wt), from MorningStar Entertainment. Sharp Entertainment is working on investment series Venture Men (wt) and American Steel (wt), from Ellman Entertainment, looks into the world of competitive car ‘flipping.’

Air dates for the projects have yet to be set but they are expected to roll out in the fourth quarter of this year and first quarter of 2013.

CNBC broadcasts live business news 16 hours a day between 04.00 and 20.00 in the US, Europe, Middle East and Asia. It has previously shown financial- and business-themed dramas, films and documentaries in its primetime slots.
