CNBC adds Sky exec for distribution

US business news channel CNBC has hired a Sky News executive as its director of pay TV distribution for international markets.

Sian-Elin Davies, previously head of distribution for Sky News International, will join the firm in January 2015 and will lead and manage its distribution strategy.

The role includes negotiating new deals for CNBC and NBC News Group channels on TV platforms across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.

Davies will report to VP of international distribution, Jacqueline Lam, and work closely with the London distribution team.
