Cartoon Network Studios has bolstered its US team by appointing the NBCUniversal (NBCU) exec who oversaw the launch of Disney Channel’s TV Everywhere initiative.

^[1]Brian Robillard been named VP of content business operations at Cartoon Network Studios, having most recently served as director of product strategy and development, content distribution at NBCU.

Robillard will report to Rob Sorcher, Cartoon Network’s chief content officer, in the newly created role based in Burbank, which will see Robillard focus on emerging multi-platform projects at Cartoon Network Studios.

Prior to joining NBCU in 2012, where he managed NBCU’s TV Everywhere efforts, Robillard was senior manager of product strategy for kids’ networks at Disney/ABC.

He launched the Mouse House’s TV Everywhere initiative and also assisted with the strategy and development of the company’s first fully interactive animated episode for the iPad.

“We’re creating so many new types of content for a Play Generation,” said Sorcher. “Brian’s experience in managing information, communication and operations across complex arenas makes him a perfect choice to help set up these intrapreneurial content models.”

His appointment comes after Stuart Snyder, president and chief operating officer of the animation unit at Cartoon Network’s parent company Turner Broadcasting System (TBS), stepped down ^[2] from the role at the end of March after six years. His replacement has not yet been announced.

Stacy Isenhower, Cartoon Network’s senior VP of programming and scheduling, and Paul Condolora, senior VP of strategic development and business operations at TBS, have also recently left ^[3] the media giant.
