Kinane permanent, Clark in development role at Fremantle

FremantleMedia has confirmed Trish Kinane as president of worldwide entertainment, while the man who previously held the post has been given a new development role.

Kinane had been job-sitting as acting president of worldwide entertainment while Rob Clark took a year off. Clark was expected to resume his role this month. However, Kinane’s got the job permanently and Clark has been appointed director of global entertainment development.

“Trish has done an outstanding job during her time as acting president,” said Gary Carter, chief operating officer at FremantleMedia, to whom Kinane reports. He added the former Action Time boss’s “unique background of international creative production expertise and managerial experience has already been of tremendous value to the company.”

As well as running Action Time with Stephen Leahy, Kinane also set up Ludus Entertainment with her long-standing business partner Leahy. Her credits include Backdate, Porkies, Dial a Mum and Watching the Detectives.

In his newly created role, Clark will be responsible for international format development in the FremantleMedia network, working with entertainment creatives, territory CEOs and heads of development. He reports to FremantleMedia CEO Tony Cohen.

“I see enormous potential in extending our significant development expertise even further, to create new entertainment formats that are as successful as our other global hits,” said Clark.
