CJ E&M secures Superights preschool trio

Helen’s Little School

MIPTV: South Korea’s CJ E&M has licensed a trio of preschool shows from French distributor Superights for its new pay channel English Gem.

The programmes are Emmy & Gooroo (52×11’), produced by Left Pocket and Tomavision; Helen’s Little School (52×11’), from Superprod and Muse Entertainment; and live-action series Bo Bear (26×5’), produced by Spark for Norway’s NRK.

English Gem is due to launch in May this year, with a focus on helping local viewers learn English through quality children’s programmes sourced internationally.

Emmy & Gooroo has also been acquired by YLE in Finland, Paka Paka in Argentina and Studio 100 for the MENA region. Helen’s Little School, first launched last fall on France Télévisions’ France 5 and Télé-Québec, has been picked up by TFO, Knowledge Network in Canada, Minimax in Poland and Discovery youth channel DKids in Latin America.
