CJ E&M reveals Chile’s Secrets

South Korean producer and broadcaster CJ E&M is preparing a local version of a Chilean telenovela that has already been remade in the US.

Family Secrets is a 100-episode revenge melodrama about a mother from a well-off family whose daughter is kidnapped by someone she knows.

It is being made in-house by CJ E&M and is based on the Latin American show Dónde está Elisa?, which aired on Chilean channel TVN. It has since been remade as Where is Elisa? by Telemundo in the US and Colombia’s RCN.

The Korean version will feature former K-Pop singer Hyo Young and has been set to air on general entertainment channel TVN later this month.
