Cisneros hires ex-BBCWW exec

Miami-based Cisneros Media Distribution (CMD) has hired the former VP of sales and distribution for Latin America at BBC Worldwide (BBCWW).

As senior director of sales and business development at CMD, Helen Jurado will report to the company’s VP Cesar Diaz, and focus on solidifying the distributor’s position in the Latin American market.

During her six years at the commercial arm of the UK pubcaster, Jurado brokered new business deals and developed multi-platform sales models and strategies in South America.

CMD replaced Venevision International, the distribution arm of Cisneros-owned Venezuelan broadcaster Venevision, earlier this year following a revamp of its operations.
