Cirkus signs Nordic deal

UK-based video-on-demand firm Cirkus has signed a new deal that will see Nordic pay TV operator Boxer carry the service.

Cirkus offers viewers a range of ‘Best of British’ shows, including content from ITV Global Entertainment, BBC Worldwide and All3Media International.

The deal means subscribers in Sweden and Denmark will be able to watch shows including crime dramas Luther and Sherlock, comedy series Fresh Meat and natural history programmes such as Blue Planet.

Cirkus, operated by Content and Co, which is run by veteran TV execs Hugh Williams and Mark Bradford, is already available to subscribers of Sweden’s largest pay TV platform operator Com Hem.

Boxer is the third largest pay TV platform in the country with nearly 600,000 subscribers, with an additional 350,000 in Denmark.

Cirkus will launch on Boxer in Sweden by the end of this year with plans to extend its roll out across other Nordic countries in 2014.
