Cineflix preps drug drama for Mip

Distributor Cineflix Rights is heading to MipTV in Cannes with a slate led by a six-part Canadian drama about Mexican drug cartels.

Pure (6×60’) has been produced by Two East Productions and Cineflix for Canadian pubcaster CBC, on which it has achieved double the average ratings in its time period.

The plot centres on a pastor who is determined to rid his community of drugs and ties to a transborder smuggling alliance with Mexican cocaine lords.

Cineflix’s factual slate, meanwhile, has been bolstered by Diana: The Day The World Cried (1×60’) from Finestripe Productions for ITV.

The doc marks the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death with contributions from those who knew her best and those behind the scenes of her funeral, speaking for the first time.

Other titles include Inside Dior (2×60’) from Finestripe for Channel 4, looking at those who work for the billion-dollar luxury empire, and Big Lego Christmas (1×60’), from Waddell Media for the same UK network.

Mountains & Life (6×60’), from Green Bay Media for Welsh pubcaster S4C, looks at the communities that struggle to survive in remote locations.

Two Bellum Entertainment titles – Bizarre Murders and Bizarre Bloopers (both 52×30’) – are also slated, along with true crime docudrama Hours to Kill from Cineflix Productions.
