Cineflix hires Frantic development exec

Canada-based producer Cineflix Media has bolstered its development team with the addition of a senior appointment in North America.

Bernard Periatambee has joined the company as VP of development with a focus on original unscripted content for network and platform partners in the region.

Periatambee will report to Dave Hamilton, executive VP of development at Cineflix Productions, and will be based in its Toronto office, working alongside the company’s development and production teams in both Toronto and New York.

The exec arrives in his new post with more than 15 years of international experience across a range of genres including long-running lifestyle and factual series, reality formats, studio talkshows and art films.

Periatambee was previously VP of factual development at Frantic Films where he oversaw a diverse slate for Canadian and US networks. Prior to that, he held development roles in the UK at factual indie Crackit Productions and ITV-owned Twofour Broadcast, as well as serving as head of programmes at Leopard Films.

His development and production credits include The Stats of Life, Backyard Builds, Cash in the Attic, Buy It, Fix It, Sell It and Still Standing.

Periatambee will start at Cineflix on January 15.
