Cineflix gets first look at Talesmith

Cineflix and Talesmith copro Rediscovering T-Rex

MIPTV: UK-based distributor Cineflix Rights has entered into a first-look partnership with factual indie Talesmith.

Cineflix said it will make a significant investment in Talesmith’s development and will help finance projects for the UK and international markets.

In return, the sales house will retain exclusive worldwide distribution rights to projects from Talesmith, which is run by CEO Martin Williams and chief operating officer Ulla Streib.

The deal also includes the option to coproduce more content with Cineflix Media’s in-house production teams in North America, following the success of Rediscovering T-Rex, a UK-Canada coproduction for the BBC, CBC, France Télévisions and Canal D.

Talesmith specialises in high-end natural history, science and factual content. It has won multiple honours including Emmys, Baftas, RTS awards and Griersons, producing for broadcasters and content platforms including the BBC, Sky, ITV, Smithsonian, Discovery, National Geographic, CBC, ABC Australia and France Télévisions.
