Cineflix claims Seacrest doc

UK-based distributor Cineflix Rights has acquired global rights to a new docuseries from Ryan Seacrest Productions.

Becoming Us (10×60’) will premiere on ABC Family in the US on June 8 at 21.00 and follows the life of a teenager whose parents are getting a divorce as his father prepares to undergo a sex-change operation.

Chris Bonney, CEO of rights at Cineflix Media, said: “The show’s main theme has a real zeitgeist feel to it, but many of the other issues explored in Becoming Us – family, relationships and coming of age – are universal and we’re convinced audiences worldwide will really connect with them.”

The deal was brokered by Anthony Kimble, VP of coproductions and North American acquisitions for Cineflix.
