China goes Green with Israeli format

Broadcasters in China and Portugal have commissioned local versions of the Israeli comedy sketch format The Green Project.

Hunan TV in China will begin airing the series in a primetime slot this week, while SIC in Portugal has ordered 13 episodes of the show for October.

The Green Project sees comedians, armed only with props, perform all their sketches in front of a green screen, allowing them to choose from a huge and comical variety of locations.

The show originally aired on cable platform Hot’s Comedy Central channel in Israel and is distributed by Armoza Formats, which has previously secured remakes of the format for Telefe in Argentina, NRK in Norway and Channel 10 in Uruguay, among others.
