Chapman builds with fledgling UK prodco

A fledgling UK production outfit specialising in children’s and family entertainment is working with Bob the Builder creator Keith Chapman on a new preschool CG animation.

Soho Square Productions is the recently launched TV production arm of London-based audio post-production firm Soho Square Studios, co-founded by kids TV and film veterans Kim Goody and Alan Coates.

The pair are currently working on a 52×11′ series targeting four to seven year olds, co-created by Chapman (Paw Patrol, Fifi and the Flowertots), with Tim Harper (Raa Raa the Noisy Lion, Roary the Racing Car) on board to direct.

The series, details of which have not disclosed, will be available for broadcasters to see at Mipcom next month along with other shows already in development.

As well as children’s animation, the production slate at Soho Square Productions will also include live action projects, while the company also has plans to expand into documentaries and drama.

Goody and Coates have worked on more than 100 popular film and television shows in the past 25 years, including Moshi Monsters: The Movie, Postman Pat and Little Charley Bear.
