Celestial spreads Chinese movie net

Pan-Asian channels operator Celestial Tiger Entertainment is extending the carriage of its Celestial Classic Movies channel in Malaysia and Brunei.

The channel, which airs classic Chinese films, is launching on the Astro pay TV platform in Malaysia and the Kristal Astro system in Brunei, adding 4.2 million households to its reach in the two territories.

The channel will be available in both countries from November 16 with content subtitled into local languages and made available through Astro’s Family Pack.

Celestial Classic Movies originally launched in 2008 and takes its content from the Shaw Brothers Film Library and other Chinese sources. It is currently carried in 10 territories in South East Asia.
