CCI takes Gullane titles back from Hit

After a tumultuous year, Canada's CCI Entertainment is now back in control of its shares, and has re-acquired the majority of Gullane's TV property line-up from Hit Entertainment.

CCI was formed through the merger of Canadian production outfits Cambium and Catalyst Entertainment in February 2002. The newly combined company had been operating alongside their UK affiliate Gullane Entertainment for just a few months, when in the summer of 2002, UK kids outfit Hit Entertainment acquired Gullane, and as a result became a minority shareholder of CCI.

Now a year after the original Cambium/Catalyst merger and rounds of negotiations, CCI is basically back where it started after having amicably ended its relationship with Hit and re-acquiring all of its own shares, along with hundreds of hours of the Gullane library.

Now, the rejuvenated CCI catalogue is comprised of an eclectic slate of children’s live-action and animation properties, documentaries, family movies and lifestyle programming.

Selected titles include: TV movies Fast Food High and I Was A Rat; animated series Eckhart and Monster By Mistake; and Gourmet Excursions, a travel/cooking series.
