Tellem, who left Microsoft’s XES following its closure in October and was previously president of the CBS Network Television Group, has joined online video storytelling company Interlude as executive chairman and chief media officer.

She will lead the executive team and be responsible for fostering relationships with the Hollywood creative community at Interlude.

The company launched in 2010 and produces immersive interactive videos, with a particular focus on music.

“We are reimagining video for a generation that wants to do more than just watch passively, which is why we are focused on amazing experiences that are both playful and thought-provoking,” said Yoni Bloch, founder and CEO at Interlude.

As XES president, Tellem oversaw Microsoft’s TV strategy and created a studio focused on the development and production of interactive programming, while at CBS she led both CBS Entertainment Network and CBS Studios.

XES was launched in 2012 to create original television content for the Xbox Live online service, but the firm shuttered it just two years later as part of plans to axe up to 18,000 jobs and refocus on gaming.
