CBS Reality opens Murder Files

Donal MacIntyre’s Murder Files will debut in February

CBS Reality in the UK has ordered a true crime series from local indie Emporium Productions featuring undercover reporter and criminologist Donal MacIntyre.

London-based Emporium will produce Donal MacIntyre’s Murder Files (10×60’), the latest in CBS Reality’s originals series, which will see MacIntyre examine crimes through first-hand experiences of the people who ensured justice was served.

Each episode will include interviews with the detective who solved the case in question and use reconstructions, archive footage and police tapes to tell the story of how it was solved.

The series will premiere on AMC Networks International and CBS Studios International-owned CBS Reality on February 28.

Also in February, CBS Reality will premiere a one-off documentary from indie prodco Peninsula Television called Uncovering Intimate Partner Abuse. The show explores the different elements of domestic abuse, including coercion and stalking, that often lead to serious violence or homicide.

CBS Reality moved into original commissioning in 2015 with another Donal MacIntyre project, Unsolved.
