CBS plots with All3’s meatballs

US network CBS has ordered a comedy show pilot based on two real-life restaurateurs who sought the help of a therapist to ensure their fledgling meatball business survived.

The as-yet untitled show is being written by Jeff Astrof (Ground Floor, Friends), who will exec produce alongside Bill Lawrence, Jeff Ingold and All3Media America duo Eli Holzman and Stephen Lambert.

Lawrence’s company Doozer Productions will produce with All3Media America while Daniel Holzmand and Michael Chernow, on whom the show is based, will be consulting producers.

The duo founded a chain of meatball restaurants and subsequently turned to a counsellor to ensure their working relationship remained intact as the business grew.
