CBS pilots Israeli drama format

US network CBS has added two new dramas to its pilot slate, one a remake of an Israeli show and another set on Wall Street and co-written by actor John Cusack.

Both dramas are as-yet untitled and will be produced by Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly at CBS Television Studios.

David Marshall Grant (Looking, Brothers & Sisters) has written and will exec produce a pilot based on The Ran Quadruplets, which aired on Israeli network Yes for two seasons.

The show, shopped by Armoza Formats, follows four siblings who were the first quadruplets to be born in their country and whose lives became a national story.

It was previously developed for pilot by CBS in 2009, with this latest version to be exec produced by the distributor’s founder and CEO Avi Armoza, along with Yona Wiesenthal, Eilon Ratzkovsky, Yahalom, Jakobi and Intrigue Entertainment’s Tariq Jalil and David Garrett.

Meanwhile, Cusack is attached as exec producer of a show that explores the competitive and unforgiving world of stockbroking. Fellow writers Taylor Elmore (Justified), Ben Cavell and Kevin McCabe will also exec produce.

CBS has so far ordered seven drama pilots during the current season, in addition to the upcoming Vince Gilligan series Battle Creek.
