CBS juggles grid ahead of fall debuts

US network CBS has pulled one of its reality shows from its schedules and bumped a comedy as it prepares for a September of premieres.

Same Name, the show where celebrities trade lives with ordinary people who happen to share the same name, has been pulled from the Sunday 21.00 slot and is to be replaced by repeats of drama The Good Wife.

From Cris Abrego Productions and Eugene Young, Same Name premiered with a disappointing audience of 1.5 million in July but was due to air two further shows this month with yet to be announced celebrities.

CBS has also pushed back the premiere of the sixth season of comedy Rules of Engagement from Saturday September 24 to Saturday October 8.

The eagerly awaited ninth season premiere of sitcom Two and a Half Men, featuring Aston Kutcher for the first time, remains at 21.00 on Monday September 19, followed by new comedy 2 Broke Girls.

The majority of the network’s new fall season shows will premiere between September 19 and 25 but a special 90-minute episode of Survivor and the finale of Big Brother will air back-to-back on Wednesday September 14.
