CBS flies with more Supergirl

US network CBS has ordered seven more episodes of DC Comics freshman series Supergirl.

The order brings the drama’s total episode count to 20 and follows Limitless,  Life in Pieces and Code Black in getting full-season pickups.

Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El, who escaped the doomed planet of Krypton at the same time as her cousin – who would later become known as Superman.

The series, which has been picked up by Sky in the UK, is produced by Berlanti Productions (The Flash, Arrow) in association with Warner Bros Television.

The show is distributed internationally by Warner Bros Worldwide Television Distribution.
