CBS duo bound for Amazon UK

CBS’s Washington DC-set comedy-drama Braindead

Amazon has licensed two new drama series from CBS Studios International for its UK subscription video-on-demand service.

American Gothic (13×60’) and Braindead (13×60’) will premiere this month on Amazon Prime Video in the UK. Braindead debuted last night on the CBS network in the US, while American Gothic will do likewise on June 22.

“Four year ago CBS created a new genre of event summer programming with buzzy, serialised shows that have scored a lot attention in both the US and around the world,” said Armando Nuñez, president and CEO at CBS Global Distribution Group, which houses CBS Studios International.

“American Gothic and Braindead are the newest additions and will bring more uniquely entertaining, high-concept stories to Amazon Prime members in the UK.”

Chilling family drama American Gothic is exec produced by Corinne Brinkerhoff, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, James Frey and Todd Cohen, while comedy-drama Braindead is exec produced by Robert King, Michelle King, Ridley Scott, David W Zucker, Brooke Kennedy and Liz Glotzer.

Both shows are made by CBS TV Studios.
