CBS dumps dating show

US network CBS has pulled its new dating show 3 after two episodes, just days after Electus International picked up the distribution rights to the show.

Produced by Magical Elves and 1492 Television, 3 is adapted from an Israeli format originally produced by Kastina Productions for Keshet Broadcasting’s Channel 2.

Earlier this week, Electus International, the sales arm of Ben Silverman’s prodco Electus, announced it had acquired the worldwide distribution rights to the US version.

However, CBS has now confirmed it is pulling 3 from its Sunday night schedules and replacing it with repeats of shows such as Hawaii Five-0 prior to the return of The Good Wife in September.

CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler told US reporters at a weekend briefing: “It was a show we tried, we were excited about. It didn’t quite get traction.”

The show premiered last Thursday to 2.4 million viewers, and that dipped to 1.8 million for the second episode on Sunday.
