CBeebies returns to Furchester

The Furchester Hotel features characters from Sesame Street

UK preschool pubcaster CBeebies and US non-profit educational organisation Sesame Workshop are to coproduce more episodes of their puppet sitcom set in a hotel.

CBeebies has recommissioned The Furchester Hotel for a 50×11′ run plus a 22-minute Christmas special. The new episodes will go into production in the north of England in May.

The series follows a family of “cheerfully chaotic” monsters who own and operate a hotel and includes familiar Sesame Street characters Elmo and Cookie Monster.

“The partnership between CBeebies and Sesame Workshop is really special as we both share core values of producing fun, high-quality, innovative programming for a younger audience that children love and parents trust,” said Kay Benbow, controller of CBeebies.
