CBeebies greenlights first Ivy House project

Happy Tent Tales is presented by Karina O’Malley

MIPTV: UK children’s channel CBeebies has commissioned a live-action series from the local indie launched by the former head of children’s at Channel 5.

Happy Tent Tales (20×7.5’) is being produced by Ivy House Productions, which was launched by Jessica Symons at the end of 2016.

The series is a collection of stories from around the world based on traditional folk tales.

Aimed at three- to six-year-olds, Happy Tent Tales is presented by Karina O’Malley, who collects stories to share with a group of young children.

It is being produced in collaboration with Nickwilson.tv and Flying Elephant and is due to launch this spring.

Symons is producing and directing while Nick Wilson, creative advisor at Ivy House and Symons’ predecessor at C5, is executive producer in charge of script and story, and also lead writer. The executive producer for CBeebies is Julia Bond.
