The show,  which has been picked up by the BBC’s commercial arm BBC Worldwide (BBCWW), focuses on Sesame Street characters Cookie Monster and Elmo and is set in a hotel they run together with a family of chaotic monsters.

Targeting children aged between three and six, the 52×11’ series will premiere in Africa and Poland later this year and on CBeebies in Australia once it has aired on local pubcaster ABC Kids.

The series is the first coproduction between Sesame Workshop, the non-profit educational organisation behind Sesame Street, and the in-house production team at CBeebies.

This deal marks the first time that Sesame Street characters have appeared on BBCWW’s global channels. Tony Reed, Alison Stewart and Carol-Lynn Parente are the executive producers.
