CBC picks up Candy Drop

Canada’s CBC has come on board an animated holiday special from local prodco Amberwood Entertainment.

The broadcaster will air The Great Northern Candy Drop (1×30′, fka The Kuujjuaq Candy Drop) during the December 2017 holiday season.

Written by Kris Pearn (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2), the special is based on a book published by the Canada Aviation and Space Museum about a Christmas tradition in northern Québec that sees a pilot drop candy out of the sky.

Fellow Canuck firm Boat Rocker Rights is distributing the special, which recently began production at its Ottawa-based animation studio Jam Filled Entertainment.
