Cash or Splash lands in Paraguay, Egypt

MIPTV: Broadcasters in Paraguay and Egypt have ordered local versions of FremantleMedia’s family gameshow Cash or Splash, which launches here in Cannes this week.

Telefuturo in Paraguay and MBC in Egypt have both acquired the format, an amalgamation of Fuji TV formats Clock Hanger, Boxing Glove, and Run Quiz Run.

The show sees teams of contestants compete for cash prizes by answering questions and completing physical challenges in order to avoid being sent for a plunge in an icy pool of water.

The news follows recent international sales for other FremantleMedia titles Thank God You’re Here, Through the Keyhole and Total Blackout.

Thank God You’re Here, which tests celebrities’ improvisational skills by throwing them into an unknown situation that they must ad-lib their way through, aired for the first time in Turkey (TRT), Vietnam (VTV3) and Finland (MTV3).

Meanwhile, the first run of Through the Keyhole in Belgium aired on VTM earlier this year. Total Black Out, already in 17 territories worldwide, extended its international footprint to two further markets in the last few months: Brazil (Bandeirantes) and France (W9).
