Cartoon Network takes Magiswords to TV

Cartoon Network’s Mighty Magiswords

Cartoon Network’s Mighty Magiswords is set for a linear series

Cartoon Network has commissioned a full-length linear series based on Mighty Magiswords, the shortform property it debuted on its app last year.

The extended Mighty Magiswords episodes will join Cartoon Network’s slate of programming including Adventure Time and The Powerpuff Girls this fall.

Created by Kyle A Carrozza and produced at Cartoon Network Studios in LA, Mighty Magiswords follows a brother and sister team of ‘warriors for hire’ who go on crazy quests to collect magical swords.

It was first made available on the network’s app CN Anything as a 15-second interactive series last year.

Cartoon Network is also producing shorts, vlogs, web and mobile games, and interactive narrative content to go alongside the TV series.

“Mighty Magiswords has been an incredible journey, starting as a simple interactive digital product and organically developing into a true multi-story world,” said chief content officer Rob Sorcher.
