Corus Entertainment in Canada has grown the reach of Cartoon Network to more than five million subscribers after partnering with new cable distributors.
Corus has struck carriage deals for the US children’s broadcaster with Rogers, Shaw and Shaw Direct, tipping subscription numbers over the five million mark.
Cartoon Network is the exclusive provider of series such as Adventure Time, Clarence, Steven Universe and Teen Titans Go! to Canadian viewers, often airing day-and-date with the US.
Corus Entertainment recently launched [1] Disney Channel in Canada after agreeing a licensing agreement with the Mouse House.
It also owns all programming rights to Nickelodeon content in Canada following a deal [2] with Viacom International Media Networks earlier this year.
