Planet Ai

Planet Ai (52×5′) is from Moscow-based Kino Atis and explores the lives of a young boy, his inventor father and their dog. The story follows the carefree aliens whose lives are turned upside down when the boy starts copying scenes he sees on a TV, which broadcasts scenes from Earth.

Half of the US$2.6m budget has already been raised and producers are now seeking the remainder of funding for the project.

Kino Atis is known for films in Russia, having released the country’s first full-length animated film in 3D with Belka and Strelka: Space Dogs, which debuted in 2010.

The firm is also working on other animated TV series including Extraordinary Adventures of Karik and Valya, which is based on the novel by Yan Larry, and classical animated movies including Crown Prince of the Republic.
